Albert Einstein was a violinist!!!

Genius at Play

“I live my daydreams in music. I see my life in terms of music…I get most joy in life out of music.”

These are not the words of a classically trained musician who has devoted his life to an instrument. No, these are the words of the most famous physicist the world has ever known—Albert Einstein.

Einstein, whose mother was a pianist, began taking violin lessons when he was six years old. By the time he was 13 he was done with lessons, but continued to play on his own.

Einstein was so enamored by music that, when he was due to receive his Nobel Prize in 1922, he ditched the ceremony in favor of performing Beethoven’s Kreutzer Sonata to an audience in Japan.

Not everyone appreciated Einstein for his love of music. One critic who was unaware of Einstein’s true claim to fame wrote, “Einstein plays excellently. However, his worldwide fame is undeserved. There are many violinists who are just as good.”

Chocolate without calories – it’s finally arrived

By Alison Stephenson
news.com.au

ALL the taste of chocolate without any of the calories? It sounds too good to be true, but one Harvard University professor has made it happen.

Biomechanical engineer David Edwards has launched AeroShot Chocolate, an inhaler which provides the taste of chocolate in breathable form.

Using a small lipstick-sized tube, consumers draw fine particles of chocolate into their mouth to experience the taste of pure chocolate “re-imagined”.

Aeroshot Chocolate follows the release of caffeine product AeroShot Energy earlier this year which used the same patented delivery system to administer a dose of breathable caffeine.

The product taps into the new-age food trend of “whaffing” or inhalable eating.

Edwards says the product works because the particles are small enough to enter the mouth and too large to go beyond it.

“The chocolate melts immediately upon landing in your mouth,” the Harvard University biomedical engineering professor said. “Since the particles are so small and uniformly dispersed by the air, the taste is immediate, too.

The product is available in three dark chocolate flavours: pure chocolate, mint chocolate, and cherry chocolate and is designed to accompany a coffee, curb an afternoon craving or be consumed as a guilt-free dessert after a meal.

It is being launched this week at the Sweets and Snacks Expo in Chicago, Illinois and will be available for consumers to purchase online from June 15 for US$2.99 ($2.97) per unit.

Drogba’s representative laughs off Barcelona rumors

The Cote d’Ivoire star’s agency has made it clear that the attacker will not leave Shanghai Shenhua, which he joined just a week ago, for the Catalan powerhouse

The former Chelsea striker recently signed a contract with Shanghai Shenhua, but reports from Spain suggested that a clause in his contract would allow him to leave the club for Barcelona, and alleged the Drogba would travel to Catalunya on Tuesday to open talks.

However, the player’s representatives, The Sports PR Company, haven’t wasted any time in dismissing the rumours.
“It’s certain. He will not sign for Barcelona. What kind of clause would that be? Do you really think that Shanghai would accept a clause where he could leave for free?” stated a spokesperson to Goal.com.

Rather than travelling to Barcelona, Drogba is currently enjoying a brief holiday in Miami after featuring in a charity match with Lionel Messi and will travel to Shanghai shortly.

Arsenal to play Nigeria’s Super Eagles in Abuja

English Premier League side Arsenal will play Nigeria’s Super Eagles in a pre-season match in Abuja on 5 August.

Ranked 60th in the latest Fifa rankings, Nigeria face a Gunners side that finished third in the English top flight last season.

It will be the first time Arsenal have played in the West African nation.

“We are delighted to announce that Arsenal Football Club will face the Super Eagles of Nigeria in Abuja,” said promoter David Omigie of DanJan Sports.

DanJan Sports say that agreement has been finalised with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to provide a strong Super Eagles side.

“The NFF have agreed that the country will present a strong side as coach Stephen Keshi continues his development process,” said Omigie.

“The Arsenal manager [Arsene Wenger] will also use this game to showcase his full squad for the 2012/2013 football season.”

The London club traditionally hosts an annual pre-season tournament at the Emirates Stadium, but they opted to postpone the event for a year because of the 2012 London Olympics.

The visit to Nigeria will conclude Arsenal’s pre-season after tours to both China and Malaysia in July.

On their official website, Arsenal said: “The club last visited Africa during a tour to South Africa in July 1993.”

“It is returning as a result of the fantastic support which exists for the team, not only in Nigeria, but across the entire continent.”

DanJan Sports revealed that tickets for the match will go on sale from 4 July.

Four years ago, they brought two other English clubs, Manchester United and Portsmouth, to the Nigerian capital Abuja for a pre-season friendly.

As well as the match between the two, Portsmouth also played against Nigeria Premier League side Kano Pillars.

Two-time African champions Nigeria have competed at four World Cup tournaments, failing to reach the knock-out stages at the last tournament in South Africa in 2010.
